The applications for international pitching at the 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival are now open until 1 April 2019.
The competition is organized by Tatarstan Ministry of Culture, Tatarkino, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Tatarstan Regional Branch of the Russian Filmmakers’Union and will be held in conjunction with KazanSummit, an international investment forum.
‘This is the first international pitching in Tatarstan and we have already received applications from Turkey, Kazakhstan and Egypt! We are looking forward to receiving proposals for full length feature film projects to be implemented in Tatarstan or in co-production with Tatarstan. I hope that the pitching will result in real contracts with international studious and will contribute well to the development of the film industry of our region’, commented Milyausha Aytuganova, the executive director of the 15th Kazan Muslim Film Festival.
The preliminary selection of projects for the pitching will be conducted by the selection committee constituted by Batyr Baishev, a director, a member of the Russian Filmmakers’Union, Yulia Akhmetzyanova, associate professor of the Department of Film and Television Industries at the Kazan State Institute of Culture and Alexandra Latysheva, a specialist of the Department for Film Production Support at Tatarkino.
The application and participation is free. The pitching session will be held on 25 April 2019 at KazanExpo.
The application forms are submitted either in English or Russian to pitching@tatarkino.ru. The Rules and Regulations of the competition are available on the web-site of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival.
